The yips, slumps, injury comebacks, competition anxiety, and the mental blocks that training alone cannot fix.
Brainspotting · Performance Optimization
You can be good at what you do and still struggle when the pressure is on. I use Brainspotting with athletes, artists, and entrepreneurs to explore the stress, fear, and past experiences that may be getting in the way. I am Anne-Marie Hosler, a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee trained in Brainspotting Phase 1 and Phase 2, working in person in Redding and by telehealth across California.
The yips, slumps, injury comebacks, competition anxiety, and the mental blocks that training alone cannot fix.
Creative blocks, stage fright, auditions, and the self-criticism that silences your best work.
Burnout, imposter feelings, decision fatigue, and losing the spark that made you start.

Sometimes more practice is not the whole answer. Stress, self-doubt, or a difficult past experience may also be affecting how you perform. We can explore that together.
A body that tightens or freezes at the exact moment you need it most.
Skills that disappear under pressure, even though they are there in practice.
Invisible ceilings that keep you playing smaller than your ability.
Running on empty in a career or calling that used to light you up.
An inner critic so loud it drowns out instinct and joy.
Injuries, failures, or humiliations your nervous system has not let go of.
Talking through a block can be helpful, but you may still notice tension, fear, or freezing when it is time to perform. Brainspotting gives us another way to explore those reactions, using focused attention and eye position.
We work at your pace and check in about what you notice, both in sessions and when you are performing. There is no promised timeline or result. An intensive may be an option if more time feels appropriate.
I tend to work well with women who lead, including founders, executives, and creatives who feel burned out or disconnected despite looking successful on paper. You do not have to keep pushing through. We can talk about what you need and what feels missing.
More about my work with womenWe use it to explore the feelings and physical reactions that come up around performance. That may include anxiety, fear, self-doubt, or past setbacks. We review whether the approach is helping you as we go.
This is therapy, not coaching. We explore your performance goals alongside the emotional patterns, stress, and experiences connected with them.
No. We can also explore pressure around business, leadership, public speaking, or exams. We will talk about your goals and whether this approach is a good fit.
Yes, when it fits your needs. We can meet by secure video while you are physically in California, including around training or work commitments.
Yes, a multi-hour intensive may be an option. We can discuss your goals, the timing, and whether that format is appropriate before scheduling.
Coverage depends on your plan and on medical necessity. Many performance concerns overlap with anxiety and stress, which are often covered. We recommend confirming benefits with your plan before beginning.
